Samsung Un55b8000 55 Inch LED HDTV

This television is the ultimate in the HDTV line. It is widescreen and the picture is just beautiful. The LED screen provides lower energy use so you reduce your carbon foot print. You will enjoy the beauty that is presented in HD on the screen while saving money and energy. This unit uses only sixty percent of the power than other LCD televisions.

Many flat screen televisions have a problem keeping the great image quality when there are fast moving screens. The screen tends to blur during high action moments. The samsung UN55B8000 LED HDTV has samsung's Auto Motion Plus frame technology to stop any picture disturbances. You will not have any trouble with the screen as you watch the great chase scenes in your favorite movie.

The LED light source in this television will allow you to see very dynamic contrasts in the colors that are displayed. While some televisions have problems with shadows or black areas having a snow like look, this television will show the deepest shadows and black areas in full black. There will be no snow or fuzziness so the picture will be absolutely clear. The blacks will be very dark and the whites will be bright and clear.

Another great asset in this television is the connectivity. The 8000 series has push button connections with either wired or a wireless Ethernet connection. It will allow you to view content from Yahoo!, You Tube, Flickr and more on the large screen and in beautiful color. Your internet experience will be a great one when you use the connections that are available on this television.

Samsung has created a way for this television to look extra stylish. Samsungs TOC (or touch of color) will apply a small touch of translucent color to the edges of the television for a very fashionable picture. The images on your television will look very life like. It will be as if you are sitting on the set watching the movie take place first hand.

The designers for this television thought of everything. It is designed to be very slim, only 1.2 inches deep! The many abilities of this television were thought about in the design as well. It has high resolution in the pixel density and an image scaler built in to the television. This will allow you to use your television with many different digital or analog video and audio sources.

For the gamer, this television can provide the ultimate in the gaming experience. The picture will be very sharp and clear and the sounds will be amazing. You will not want to play your video game on any other television after you have had this experience. You can set the television to gaming mode and it will automatically set up for optimal sound and picture quality for gaming.

If you cannot decide on a program to watch, take advantage of the picture in picture setting. You can surf the net in one window and keep an eye on your favorite program in the other. Or play your favorite game system while watching the news for a weather update. There are many different options available with this option.

The Samsung UN55B 8000 55 inch LED HDTV is the perfect television for all of your needs. No matter if you use your television for games, internet or simply unwinding and watching a movie, you will be very impressed with the high quality and the options.

RF PCB Layout Guide

This is a general guide to the best practice printed circuit board (PCB) design rules for a high frequency or radio frequency (RF) circuit. Following these rules will help you to avoid some of the most common pitfalls in RF design. Poor PCB layout is one of the most common causes of inadequate transmit or receive performance and EMC failures due to spurious emissions. Ideally an engineer undertaking a PCB design should be familiar with the IPC standards as these provide a rich source of information and best practice on the general principles of PCB design.

When planning to layout an RF PCB, the first place to start is to contact your preferred board manufacturer and obtain a set of their guidelines and manufacturing capabilities. This will include the minimum track and gap widths, drill sizes and other key parameters. The board manufacturer should also be able to provide you with their standard layer stack and material data, this will include the copper weights, dielectric constant, and the thickness of core and pre-preg layers in multi-layer boards. Unless your circuit is extremely simple I suggest that a 4 layer board is used this ensures a continuous ground plane. When using a double sided board it is very difficult to ensure that the ground plane is un-broken. Another advantage of a 4 layer board is that the dimensions of the micro-strip for a 50 or 75 ohm design are more manageable. Use a micro-strip calculator to determine the required track width for the design impedance and ensure that it is within the manufactures capabilities, if not you may need to discuss the layer-stack with the manufacturer and select a non-standard build. Another point to note is that in my experience attempting to maintain separate ground nets for different signal area's usually causes problems rather than any benefit and is largely a throwback to the days prior to multilayer boards, a single low impedance ground plane is the safest route.

It is quite acceptable to use FR4 for boards up-to 2.4GHz unless the highest level of performance is required. In certain circumstances it is worth specifying the board as controlled impedance to provide consistent RF performance.

Having determined the track and board geometries the next step is to address the component placement. Ensure that the RF components are laid out such that all the RF tracks can be kept on the top surface with minimum length and changes of direction. Start with low signal level areas at the antenna or RF input and work backwards towards the baseband or digital area. Keep digital and power supply areas away from the analogue RF circuitry and keep all the RF components on one side of the board.

Where your RF tracks can't be run in a straight line, use mitered bends if your CAD system supports them, never use right angled bends on RF signal lines. If mitered bends are not supported use a series of 45 degree bends or arcs, this minimizes impedance mismatches which would increase losses and spurious emissions.

On RF layouts it is common to provide a ground flood on the top layer and to "stitch" this to the ground plane by using multiple via's. If you intend to do this, ensure that the copper is kept a suitable distance from the RF tracks and components otherwise the impedance will be lowered and cause more harm than good. The via spacing can be 5-10mm apart there is very little benefit in stitching via's being closer than 5mm apart.

Tracks to ground from RF components should be kept as short as possible and use 2 or 3 via's in parallel via's to minimize the impedance.

A Newborn Baby Gift Basket is Still a Popular Choice For Giving

Whether it is for you or a friend or relative, there will likely come a time when you will need to choose newborn baby gifts. There are many choices for someone looking for presents for infants. There are a variety of wonderful ideas for creating ideal newborn baby gifts that nurture a child's developmental growth.

An option that is always a good choice is the newborn baby gift basket. This choice is very popular as it gives the sender a variety of things to give as a gift. You might even say it is a way for giving quantity over quality. Giving gift baskets as presents for babies has grown in popularity over the past decade and they are continuing to grace baby showers and maternity hospital rooms across the country.

Every newborn baby gift basket can be as unique as you want it to be. Some people choose to design their own newborn baby gifts around the concept of a gift basket. One example is to create a beautiful present out of a basket purchased from a local craft store. Fill it with items that are on the couples gift registry.

Other gifts that are growing in popularity are personalized items. These gifts are created with the specific baby in mind. There is one drawback to making it too personalized if the gender of the baby is unknown before being born. But it is possible to create semi-personalized presents if you do not have the child's name ahead of time by going with general terms like "baby", "boy" or "girl".

The majority of people do like personalized newborn baby gifts though. They are a sentimental reminder of one's special day. When the name is not know, however, gift givers have been known to deliver an un-personalized gift only to make it personalized after the birth. This usually makes things easier for everyone. In any case, such a sentimental gift will be cherished for many years to come.

Gift ideas are sometimes hard to come up with on your own. Perhaps a Samsung LN52A650 52-Inch 1080p could brighten someone's holiday or birthday, for example. There are other gift ideas at Holiday Gift Buddy.

Facts about Laptops

Laptop is a useful device which has the ability to offer high portability to the users. It is simple to carry these notebook computers wherever you go. If a laptop computer violates the user's efficiency in their working environment, it is called as "un-ergonomic" laptops. These laptops do not have integrated keyboard and screen. Personal computers were designed with integrated key board and screen in a single unit. But the manufacturers were criticised for the discomfort offered.

Which type of user you are?

It is essential to decide about the type of usage of the device. Then only you can choose to buy the appropriate one. There are two types of users available all over the world. One is an occasional user and the other a full time user. The occasional users rarely sit with laptops and on the other hand full time users always work on the system. Whatever may be the user type, it is essential to know the techniques to use the laptops effectively.

What about the dimensions of Laptops?

You can use laptops as a replacement of desktop computers. The viewing area of the laptops has come up to 17 inches. It is not advisable to prefer large screen for laptops. It is because you have to carry it around. It may uncomfortable for you to carry it when its screen size is very large. It is easy to get small size laptops in the UK market. Go for ultra portable laptops if you are a frequent travelling businessman.

Resolution and screen size are the two main factors to be considered while buying a laptop. When you buy a 12.1 inches flat screen, you can get resolutions up to 1024 x 768 in pixels. This type of resolution is said to be "XGA" resolution. When you select the screen size, it is essential to check whether the text can be read comfortably or not. Your input devices can be used easily.

What is the normal weight of laptops?

Weight of the laptop has to be considered to avoid lifting highly weighted laptops during travels. The weight of the system has to be reasonable. Here the word system denotes all the accessories like power supply, spare battery, zip drive, CD RW drive, external disc drive etc. It is better to go for light weighted laptops like 6 to 10 lbs.

PCs & The Environment - Are You Damaging The Environment - Sitting There, Right Now?

A great many of us now find computers an indispensable part of everyday life, whether it be at work or home. But consider this, a study by the United Nations discovered that an average 24kg desktop computer with monitor requires 10 times its own weight in fossils fuels to manufacture. Once water and other chemicals are also added an average computer uses 1.8 tonnes of material before it has even begun its working life. Then you have electricity use and after a few years it will probably need updating with a new one, and where does it go then?

Although in the West computers have been relatively mainstream for sometime, sales continue to increase by about 10% each year. There have already been well over 1 billion computers sold in the world since their inception and given the rapid development of countries such as China and India, computer ownership will only accelerate.

Given these amazing statistics it's no wonder the environmental impact of computers is steadily filtering down to consciousnesses of consumers and is beginning to be picked up by politicians and companies.

So, how can you help?

Well, the best thing to do is to thoroughly research the computer you wish to buy. Read up and if possible ask as many questions as possible to determine what the environmental impact of the PC or notebook is likely to be. The good news it that many top computer manufacturers are taking this issue increasingly seriously and you will discover that some computers are greener than others. Several manufacturers, including Sony, Fujitsu Siemens, samsung and Toshiba all now offer computers without damaging BFR and PVC in their motherboards and many major brand manufacturers have committed to eliminating these chemicals from all their computers within a few years.

Perhaps the most key recent moment for the green computer movement was when Apple announced the MacBook Air in January. The environmental impact of this notebook computer took key prominence in the announcement and there are several points of note. The notebook case is made from recyclable aluminium, there is no arsenic or mercury in the display and the motherboard is BFR and PVC free. It's packaging uses 56% less volume than other Apple notebook packaging.

Consider though that there are plenty of other green computer options out there and that the environmental impact of manufacture was not mentioned during the release. However, the fact the environmental issue was mentioned at all by America's third largest computer manufacturer indicates that the revolution could get well under way in 2008.

So, when you are next shopping for that new computer remember to keep some environmental questions in the forefront of your mind.

At Buy MacBook Air you will find a guide to the new MacBook Air as well as reviews and discussions about it.

Heavy Duty Laptop Battery Chargers

The first portable computer was known as Osbone 1 which was developed in 1981.

This heavy and cumbersome machine used CP/M operating system which means Control program monitor who was commonly used in 1970s before the MS-DOS wiped it out after the introduction of the IBM PC in the year 1981.

Finally professionals were able to move around with their data and information on a portable computer. The only problem was that it had to be plugged on an electric socket since it could not use batteries.

Kypro 11 was developed as perfection rather than a competitor of Osbone 1. It had twice the size of Osbone 1 when it came to the screen features and when purchased new, it came with a software bundle and it had twice the storage capacity and double density floppy drives as opposed to that of Osbone 1.

Next in line came the Bondwell 2 which was not released until 1985 which came as a result of the operating system decline of CP/M. The Compaq was introduced in 1983 at a time when standard computer platform was looked upon IBM Personal Computer.

Other laptop models that followed Epson PX-4, the NEC PC 8401A,PX-8 and NEC PC-8500. None of these four units came with standard hard disk or floppy although they made use of the CP/M modified system in the Rom.

On November 2005 the then UN Secretary General together with Nicholas Negroponte unveiled a rough prototype of the laptop computer.

When it comes to the choice of a good laptop battery charger, culpability is a factor that should highly be considered when purchasing a laptop battery charger.

It is always advisable to check on the user manual to ensure the necessary specifications have been followed in order to avoid purchasing a charger that might damage the computer battery.

It is important to go for the best quality because the charger immediately becomes part and parcel of the laptop just the same as the battery.

There are several types of laptop battery chargers and one of them is the solar charger which basically converts the energy got from the sun into electric energy through a process known as the photovoltaic effect.

The solar chargers are preferable because they are environmental friendly because when they recharge the batteries then the batteries can not contribute to the land fills.

Therefore be sure to go for a quality laptop battery charger.

Samsung UN55B8000 55-Inch LED HDTV Review

Remember the time when flat panel TVs started to take over the old bulky CRT TVs? Well the second wave of change is coming. LED HDTVs will soon take over conventional LCD and plasma HDTVs. LED HDTVs are super-thin, uses very little energy and produces superb video quality. It will be just a matter of time before they take over the HDTV market. Currently, the samsung UN55B8000 LED HDTV series has been touted as on of the best in the market. Here is a quick look at the 55-inch model.

Design: Firstly, it must be mentioned that the samsung UN55B8000 55-inch LED HDTV looks just stunning. This model is just 1.2-inches thick at its thickest point, giving it an amazing side profile. On the front, it has a glossy black surface that is decorated with a thin layer of transparent acrylic/plastics along its edges. It rests on a transparent stalk that connects it to a brushed-metal stand. The chic design and looks of this model is on its own a good enough of a reason for you to get one of these.

When connected to the internet, it allows you to access a variety of online content such as streaming videos from YouTube. Samsung UN55B8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV

Ok, So I just got back from BestBuy and FutureShop doing a little investigation on the new TV that I just purchased on Amazon. I bought the samsung UN55B8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV and it is insanely cool.

THe Features on this bad boy are out of this world. If you after the latest in HDTV technology then this model will not let you down and it beats Sony's price by $2000. I'll just mention a few of the sweet features this TV has.

1) 1.5" thick- YA that's right it is about the same thickness as a deck of cards! The reason for this is because this new generation uses LED's instead of LCD or Plasma so there is no need for light bulbs in this one.

2) Super COOL- The samsung UN55B8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV not only looks cool but it actually STAYS cool. Because it doesn't use Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (those are light bulbs for us simple folk) that means that it doesn't heat up at all.

3) 240 hz refresh rate- Most TV's refresh in the 60hz-120 hz range so the images get blurred more easily. With 240 hz fast motion images appear ridiculously clear.

4) Energy Efficient- The samsung UN55B8000 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV is almost 40% more energy efficient than standard LCD and Plasma HDTV's. This is again due to the revolutionary LED technology that does not use light bulbs.

5) Do you like Games?- This TV features game mode which enhances dark areas, sharpens the picture, speeds up the image processing response. Basically it makes your games even better to play than they already are.

The Samsung UN55B8000 is definitely the best HDTV I have ever owned and for such a good price. Read more about it at http://www.squidoo.com/SamsungUN55B8000-1080p or go to Samsung LED HDTV and see what everyone else has to say about it...And you get FREE SHIPPING!

LCD TVs Are Fast Becoming the TV Standard

If you look around, you can easily see LCD technology. From the digital clock that beeps away at you in the morning to the microwave that served up your last late night snack, you have been utilizing LCD technology for years, most likely without even being aware of it. The digital watch on your wrist, the laptop at your office, even the MP3 player in your gym bag makes use of LCD innovations.

These are only a couple of examples of everyday electronics that use LCD technology. The most trendy and frequent use of LCD technology nowadays is the ever popular LCD television.

Liquid Crystal Displays or LCD TVs are those that use flat, thin displays made up of a series of monochrome pixels that are in turn displayed in front of a reflector or other source of light. That is where the image display comes from. In most cases, the technology used is that of the Thin Film Transistor or TFT that is a specific type of field effect transistor made by layering thin films intended for metal contacts along with dielectric and semiconductor layers. As such, the LCD television is more different than other image producing technologies such as a plasma display or older cathode ray tubes.

At one time, the general consensus was that LCD technology was only good when used on televisions of smaller size and that it could not contend with plasma technology when it came to larger screen sizes. With the advent of seventh generation panels by such giants as samsung, Sony, Westinghouse Digital, Sharp and LG Philips, those beliefs have proven to be false.

In October of 2004, LCD screen sizes where as large as 45 inches and were readily accessible by several companies and the Sharp Corporation took center lead with the introduction of the first 65 inch panel TV in history. By 2006, LG Philips had introduced the largest display yet with their 100 inch LCD television.

Today's LCD TVs are universal, in that they include a multi system tuner that displays NTSC, SECAM and PAL standards. They also offer electronic transformers that automatically use 110/250 voltage without any issues, as well as universal grounded adapter plugs. Also, LCD televisions are not going to be limited to the living room and now serve as computer monitors across the world.

According to recent news, manufacturers continue with plans to invest obscene amounts of money on the production and development of LCD television technology for a long time. It is highly un-likely that LCD technology is going anywhere, in fact, if recent trends continue for LCD TVs, then better advancements are yet to come!

The Samsung UN55B8000 - Energy Saving Big Screen Television

This is the third in a series of reviews based on the new range of LED televisions recently released by samsung. Like I mentioned in the two previous reviews, LED technology allows flat screen televisions to save up to 40% on their electricity consumption. There has been a large backlash from environmental groups at the increased use of LCD and plasma televisions, because in many cases they use more electricity than the old cathode ray type televisions we used in the past. LED technology hopes to redress this balance and is likely to become the de facto screen technology for manufacturers in the years to come.

samsung UN55B8000 - 55 inches of Perfect Picture Quality?

The UN55B8000 shares a number of features with its smaller cousins - the UN46B6000 and UN46B8000, what sets it apart is its huge screen. LED technology already adds to the viewing experience, but to see this applied to a larger screen, really highlights how much better these LED screens appear.

The addition of samsung's picture technology - Auto Motion Plus 240Hz, also helps to enhance this experience by analyzing every frame and adjusting it if there is the appearance of blur. This makes sports programming come to life - not quite as good as actually being inside the stadium, but not far off!

The UN55B8000 is also great for gamers. Its huge, crisp, color enhanced LED screen brings gaming to life and enhances the experience. The addition of 4 HDMI ports means that there is no shortage of ways to connect your games console or other peripherals.

Samsung UN55B8000 worth the expense?

There is no doubting that the Samsung UN55B8000 is not the cheapest flat screen television out there. However, in terms of value for money it offers a number of advantages over cheaper rivals. Firstly, you get a fantastic cutting edge design - the screen is super sleek at only 1.5 inch wide. You get a picture quality that could be argued as amongst the best in the world.

The LED technology helps the environment as well as saving you money on your electricity bill, and it will also future proof your investment, as LED technology is likely to render LCD and plasma technology obsolete over the next few years. However, the main reason to buy this TV is you get 55 inches of near picture perfect quality that makes watching any film or television programme an awesome visual experience.

How to Save Money When Buying Brother Ink Cartridges

Brother printers are one of the most cost effective printers currently on the market due to a number of key factors. First and foremost all new Brother Inkjet Printers use a separate ink tank system which offers the following benefits:

•Cartridges are predominately un-chipped resulting in the printer using all of the ink in the cartridge rather than running out after a specified number of pages.

•Individual colours can be replaced as they run out rather than a tri-colour system which requires the entire cartridge to be changed whenever one colour runs out.

•The cartridges are relatively large compared with competitors' offerings; for example a LC1100 cartridge contains 20.5ml meaning a full set of four collectively contains a massive 82ml.

•As the print head is actually inside the printer itself, you only ever replace the ink tank rather than the entire printing mechanism every time. This results in lower buying costs for both original and compatible products.

Because of the simple nature of the printer cartridges it is possible for companies other than Brother to create compatible ink cartridges which are sufficiently different to the originals to remain legal while offering lower printing costs. Customers looking to save money may benefit from using these compatible cartridges to reduce their printing costs. A compatible cartridge is a brand new alternative to the original cartridge and should offer improved cost per page prints without sacrificing print quality.

Brother Laser Printers also remain one of the most cost effective options on the market, again due primarily to the reasonable cost of both original and remanufactured cartridges coupled with a relatively high page yield per unit. A Brother TN135 cartridge for example will produce 5,000 pages out of the black and 4,000 pages per colour which compares favourably with a HP CB540 series cartridge which will produce 2,200 pages out of the black and 1,400 pages per colour.

An alternative for those looking to save money on their printing costs is to start using remanufactured toner cartridges. These units are original Brother toner cartridges which have been fully used then taken back to a recycling facility where any worn parts are replaced then the cartridge is refilled and tested before being boxed up and sold as a remanufactured product. These cartridges offer significant cost and environmental savings without sacrificing print quality.

Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera - Does it Measure Up?

If you are looking to buy a Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom then you have arrived at the right place, you will not get all the fluff, that the normal review sites, will give you. You will get research based upon extensive user feedback from the people who have actually used and abused this product, that coupled with a genuine rating of whether we consider the product to be worthy of the purchase price. I will try and point out, what was considered to be whats good about this product and what was not so good, based upon real people with no axes to grind...

Pros

First off the camera felt very solidly built, if not a little heavy for a point and shoot model, but it did however feel well balanced throughout.

The SX10 IS stood up adequately to heavy usage, giving no issues, the controls are intuitively placed also. The 2.5" LCD screen is standard, but if I am honest, I would like to have seen a 3" screen for that little extra, and of course you would expect for the screen to pivot for easy viewing of subject (self portrait for example). What was very useful was the speed at which the unit booted up and was ready to shoot and it was also mentioned how useful the low battery warning was utilized, surprising how often , you can get caught out. As for the picture, well the 20x Optical zoom was considered more than acceptable. especially when used in conjunction with image stabilization function, that I know is available on less expensive Canon products, namely the Canon 1100 IS 8MP.

Cons

The feedback was less enthusiastic with the lack of grip on this unit, very slippery in damp conditions, which doesn't help if the subject is moving. Although the controls are intuitive the menu is far from that, proving a little messy, when it was un-familiar. The built in flash is pretty poor, but OK for day to day use, or in emergencies, this will often depend upon your own needs and wants. Pictures taken in low light, could be better, this is because of the densely packed pixels on the sensor, any ISO over 200/400 is un-usable.

Our Research on the Canon Powershot SX10 IS 10mp Digital Camera Suggests:

This product is proving to be a worthy successor to the S-series and G-series before that, it appears to have taken the minor concerns with those previous models and improved upon them, however as a result, it has a few concerns of its own, that you might find disappointing. If I were looking for a digital camera with excellent viewing Verdict: If you are looking for a digital camera, that is capable of giving you results that can hack it with the big boys (digital SLR), then you just might of found it.
